Augustus is a 14.2hh bay Morgan-cross gelding, estimated at 10-12 years old.

Please join in the rescue and rehabilitation of Augustus, a lovely, affectionate dappled bay gelding. He was bound for slaughter unless bailed during a one-week reprieve at NY Last Chance Bailout, and Pony Up Rescue stepped in to bail and care for him. Following quarantine, Gus shipped home to Tivoli, NY to decompress. He came with a challenge: advanced high ringbone in the front right pastern. Young and conformationally correct, Pony Up opted to give the joint a chance to fuse and thus become painless. He was injected with Depo-Medrol in the pastern to encourage that process, and is on pasture rest while we wait and see. Broke to ride and drive already (level unknown), we are hopeful that Gus can become a light riding or trail horse. Already he is far more comfortable than on arrival!
