Sparrow

6/1 UPDATE- Sparrow is our vet's favorite and about as bombproof as I have seen. She has gone out on trails in the lead and behind, alone and in company. She has worked in the round pen both English and Western. She clips, loads, bathes, stands for the farrier and to be groomed, lives out in a mixed herd, and is generally amicable all of the time. Sparrow has a motor of her own, but is among the safest ponies I've known. She is wearing front shoes following hoof tenderness (confirmed by the vet) on the hard ground.

3/10 UPDATE- Sparrow is doing beautifully after having had dental, farrier, and veterinary care in addition to vaccines and dewormer. She is one of the lucky ones (as slaughter pipeline horses go) in that she was rescued early in the downward spiral, before much damage was done. Sparrow is 20 years old, sound, in good weight, and does not appear significantly stressed. She bore signs of recent neglect, but nothing long term. As the weeks pass, her energy level is increasing and she is beginning to romp with the other ponies in the field.

1/29 UPDATE- The Texas Two are scheduled to ship to us on February 11th, weather-permitting. We have raised $3175 of the $5300 needed for their rescue and immediate medical care. Please keep sharing! https://www.pledge.to/2-last-ditch-pony-mare-rescues

1/4 UPDATE- We got them picked up from the kill pen late last night with preliminary eye medication starting today and the vet already called. We don't have all the funds raised for them yet, but we have enough that I jumped in and bailed them. Please keep sharing! https://www.pledge.to/2-last-ditch-pony-mare-rescues
