Community Participation
Whether you are horse-curious or horse-savvy; interested in volunteering, learning about horses for the first time, or wishing to take part in programming, there is a place for you in the Pony Up Rescue Collective. We are just getting started!
Start here.
Visit the farm, meet the rescue ponies and get a feel for the Rescue Collective. Whether you are interested in volunteering, looking for a recreational visit, know a lot, a little, or nothing at all, this is a good place to start. Free of charge. Supervised children are welcome. We tailor visits to each group. Hold Harmless form required of all participants.
Consider Volunteering Onsite!
A wonderful community of volunteers assists with AM & PM feedings, farm chores, horse handling and group teaching. Self-schedule on our volunteer page after you have attended Meet the Rescues! Volunteer interest form required.
Around the farm you'll find volunteers and visitors participating in myriad ways. Some do barn chores like feeding, mucking and filling water buckets. Some are painting, leveling the stalls, fixing fences and putting up shelves. We have volunteers organizing supplies while others do reiki and clicker training with the ponies. Some simply cuddle and groom the rescues. There are infinite ways to be a beneficial presence, and we welcome your contributions.
Help Out Behind the Scenes
We are always looking for people that can help us with media, grant writing, marketing, design, communications, photography, finance, and fundraising. If you would like to be part of building this organization together behind the scenes, please message the page and we will be in touch directly.
Donate, Sponsor or Become a Sustainer
You can directly impact the wellbeing of these horses and ponies by contributing as little as $10 per month. We rely on sustainers and donors and are 100% fiscally transparent. 93% of all monies go directly to the rescues, while 7% are retained by our parent 501(c)(3), Chappy & Friends, for administrative costs.
Suggest Program Opportunities
Living Resources Programming
We partner with Living Resources Day Community Opportunities Program (DCOP) and host twice-weekly sessions at the farm.
Ulster County 4-H Animal Whisperers Club
The Animal Whisperers "adopted" and named Penny From Heaven, visited her for a grooming and horsemanship clinic, and fundraised over $700 towards her medical bills.
